About the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation

The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation was incorporated in 1994 as a not-for-profit charitable organization. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors that represent the people of Walkerton and surrounding communities. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to raise funds for the benefit of our local health care system.

Limited government funding is not sufficient to provide all the required equipment, technology, services and programs. The funds must come from the people who use the services of the local health care system and the Foundation is here to facilitate that giving, purchasing of new equipment/technology, replacing existing equipment, and helping to fund programs.

The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation is here for you today and will continue to be here tomorrow. We will work our hardest to ensure that you, your family, and the entire community has the best possible health care facilities and services. We strive to provide great healthcare for all our patients close to home.

Your financial support of the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation will demonstrate once again how community spirit has made this part of Ontario the best place to live.

Since the Foundation was incorporated in 1994, community support has helped to raise $4,000,000, Completed projects include the purchase of a 64 -Slice CT Scanner, Digital Mammography Machine,  2 - Anesthetic Machine and Surgical Equipment for the O.R., Diagnostic Imaging Equipment for the Family Birthing Unit and Infrastructure projects i.e. Elevator, Roof, Generator, and Physician Offices. The Foundation wants to continue to improve the quality of health care at the Walkerton site Hospital!

The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation ensures all individuals have an opportunity to make a difference in our community. It is easy to see, as you view the pages of this website, that the members of the Foundation, staff, volunteers, etc, work their hardest each and every day to provide our community with the best health care possible close to home. You too can become a health care hero by becoming a volunteer or simply by making a donation. Your support and generosity will ensure that we have the needed equipment to support our great Medical Team for the top quality care given close to home.
