Current Needs

State-of-the-art performanceEquipment needs at the Walkerton Hospital continue to change as the years go by. The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation works their hardest to provide our local healthcare facility with the most up-to-date medical equipment and technology possible.

In order to do so, the Foundation has made a commitment to raise funds to go towards the purchase of a new ECG Machine in order to open a second OR suite at the Walkerton Hospital. The current ECG Machine is of an unknown age and is not user friendly. Therefore, it is vital that this machine be replaced immediately.

The ECG Machine will offer features and benefits that will help us reach our goal of maintaining safe and comfortable medical equipment. This machine is equipped with features that will allow our physicians to provide our patients with a better diagnosis. This requisite piece of equipment contains:

~ A high-resolution 15" touchscreen to clearly display up to 10 seconds and 16 leads, color-coded for signal quality.

~ Simple 1-2-3 guided process for taking ECGs.

~ 3-in-1 Trident lead wires to minimize tangling.

~ Mark cardiac events for later review

~ Anatomic patient interface module support correct lead placement.

~ Lead check reveals lead reversals at the bedside.

~ Critical values help to identify those patients who are of urgent attention

~ The automated sequence helps to speed workflow

~ Previous ECGs are at the bedside for immediate comparison

The new ECG Machine offers countless benefits for our patients, increasing their safety, along with that of our staff. This vital piece of equipment will facilitate a safe and at ease working environment for our staff and patients. The ECG Machine will enhance patient care and provide our patients with safe and up-to-date technology. This is important because our Foundation believes that is it crucial for our patients to feel safe, welcomed, and at ease when they walk through the doors of the Walkerton Hospital. For this reason and many more, it is vital that we are able to raise funds to purchase requisite pieces of equipment such as the ECG Machine.

“Giving you more confidence and control over how you interact with your patient…”
