The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation hosts a series of fundraising events throughout the year. We would like to thank all those who have offered their generous support at past events.
Golf Tournament
The 16th Annual Golf Tournament was a HUGE success. This year's Golf Tournament was held on June 16, 2011 as the Walkerton Golf & Curling Club. 19 teams enjoyed the beautiful weather while participating in 18 holes of golf, followed by an incredible dinner catered by PJ's Catering. Prizes were rewarded to the winning foursome, closest to the pin, closest to the keg, hole-in-one, longest drive, and many more. All of the proceeds from this year's tournament went towards important hospital equipment.
The 17th Annual Golf Tournament is just a swing away. Come join us on June 21, 2012 for another successful tournament at the Walkerton Golf & Curling Club. Come on out and tee off to healthcare.

Staff BBQ
The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation hosts a BBQ every year to show their appreciation of all the staff at the Walkerton Hospital. We are sincerely grateful for all the support that is provided to us by all the staff. We encourage everyone to come join us for a wonderful lunch, compliments of the Foundation!
The 2011 BBQ was cancelled due to the construction in various parts of the Hospital. We are sincerely sorry and would like to inform all the staff that we are extremely thankful for your services at the Walkerton Hospital.

Radiothon
"We Can Do A Lot, If We All Do A Little" at the 11th Anniversary of the CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon. The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation is proud to be a part of this wonderful fundraiser. This year's event will be held on October 20, 2012, broadcasting on CKNX 920 AM, 94.5 the Bull and 101.7 FM from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Pick up a phone and give us a call!
Sixteen mid-western Ontario foundations, including the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundations put their heads and hearts together at the 10th annual Radiothon to raise a total of over $660,000 for their hospitals and rural health care in general. Last year's event was held on October 15, 2011. Our Foundation raised over $49,000 to go towards the purchase of the ECG Machine for the Emergency Department at the Walkerton site Hospital. We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone, who participated, for their outstanding support.

Gala
Are you, and your friends, wanting a night out? Are you all dressed up and looking for a place to go? Are you ready for a glamorous evening? Come join me for the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation's Gala. This year's Gala will be held at the Cargill Community Centre on September 29, 2012. Entertainment will liven up the evening and guests will once again have to opportunity to bid on incredible Live and Silent auction items. Good food, Good fun, what else could you ask for? Come join us for the 5th annual Moonlight Gala!
Last year's Moonlight Gala took place on Saturday, October 1, 2011. It was a wonderful evening with the Howlin Dogs entertaining the crowd. Bob Lammie acted as our MC for the evening to a sold-out crowd of 260. Guests were in a frenzy bidding on both Live and Silent Auction items, raising an outstanding net value of $63,000 towards the purchase of Surgical Laparoscopic Instruments for the Walkerton site Hospital.
A very gratifying and heartfelt thank you to all the businesses, donors, individuals, and volunteers who helped make our past Galas a Huge success!

Christmas Campaign
Every year the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation holds a Christmas Ornament Campaign through the winter months. Donors have the opportunity to place a name on a Christmas Ornament, with their donation, to recognize themselves, honor a friend, or commemorate a loved one. The Christmas Ornaments are proudly displayed on a Christmas tree outside the Foundation Office. The names of the individuals being honored will also be placed within an Honor Roll Book, along with the name of those who have donated in their honor. Last year, the generous support of the community helped to raise $15,770 to go towards the purchase of the new Digital Mammography Machine. We thank you for your previous support and hope that you think of this unique opportunity once again during the holiday season.

Fashion show
What is glamorous, alluring, flashy, and can't be missed? That was the the 5th annual Fashion Show hosted by the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation on April 14th, 2011.
Guests from all over came to watch the models strut their stuff down the cat-walk, displaying various outfits from local merchants. Maureen Schuler entertained the crowd as the MC for the evening. She "wowed" the entire building with her demonstration on the cat-walk and knew just how to keep everyone laughing and enjoying their evening. The community members who came to watch not only experienced a wonderful eveing and seen many outfits, but the helped to raise funds for vital pieces of equipment at the Walkerton site Hospital. A special thank you to the Fashion Show committee and all those who volunteered to make this an unforgettable evening!
" Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live and the way we are".

Run4Health
A healthy community is a goal that many strive to meet. We here at the Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation realize this and works our hardest to provide all our patients with the best possible health care close to home. We believe that it is important for our community to stay fit and be active. It is for this reason that we took the initiative to create a new fundraising event. One which will get our community up and moving! The 1st annual Run4Health was a smashing success raising $10,000 to go towards requisite pieces of equipment for our hospital. We would like to offer a special thank you to all those who participated in this 1st Run4Health and also to all our sponsors.
Grab your running shoes and come run along side us at the next walk/run event. A 1km run will be held for children, along with a 5km walk/run and a 10km run. This event will take place on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Registration for this event will begin at 8:00a.m and the walk/run will comment at 9:30a.m. We hope to see you out at this wonderful event. Be active, be healthy, be a health care hero!
